100% Handmade Leather Works
Famous leather works designer, Jerry Van Amburg, started making leather goods in 1976 out of Medford, Oregon. Jerry was first introduced to the craft by his cousin, Stacey Beavers, who owned a shop called Leather Country. Jerry worked extensively with Stacey and was paid only what his cousin could afford at the time. From this experience, Jerry learned a lot about leather and developed a great love and passion working with it. Leather works is a passion that he possesses until this day.
Jerry Van Amburg has always been very critical of his own work and he is always discovering new and improved ways to get leather to look and do what he wants it to do. He believes that handmade garments and leather work of old world craftsmanship are becoming a dying art, and he keeps doing his best to keep this art alive through his work.
On his Facebook page, Jerry states, "I want to keep the quality of each piece as high as possible, reflective of the museum or heirloom quality craftsmanship of centuries past. I like to think of my projects as something a craftsman may have made his king, paying all possible attention to detail and quality." Keep up the great work, Jerry!
